Who runs this

MotoRidez is operated by Dasdow Pty Ltd (ABN 26 692 744 326), an Australian company. Dasdow Pty Ltd is the data controller for everything described on this page, contactable at privacy@motoridez.com.

What we collect

• Account details. Your email address and a hashed password. The email address is used to sign you in, to send messages about your account (a welcome, sign-in codes, your first completed ride, account changes, replies to your support requests), and to contact you about a problem we found that affected your use of the app, such as a navigation fault on a ride you recorded. It is not used for advertising and is not shared for marketing.
• Location while you use the app. When you plan a route from your current position, or hit Record on a ride, we read precise GPS. Foreground only when planning; foreground and background while a ride is being recorded so the track keeps going with the screen off.
• Recorded rides. GPS points and timestamps for rides you choose to record, plus the roads we map-match them to. This is the data that powers "remember every road I've ridden."
• Planned routes. Waypoints and the route we computed for them, saved against your account so you can open them later.
• Motion sensor readings. While a ride is being recorded the app reads the phone's accelerometer and gyroscope to estimate lean angle. Stored alongside the ride.
• Push notification token. If you allow notifications, we store the token your device gives us so we can deliver ride-related alerts (for example, a finished map-matching job).
• Roads you've ridden. Which roads each of your recorded rides covered.
• Home location (optional). If you set one, we remember it.
• Top speed per ride (optional). If you opt in, the highest speed from each ride.
• Friends, groups, shared rides. Who you're friends with, the groups you belong to, and rides you choose to share.
• Reviews. Star ratings and optional comments you leave on rides.
• Vehicles in your garage. What you've added: make, model, colour, and optional odometer.
• Public profile (optional). Anything you choose to make public.
• Emergency contact (optional). Name, phone, and email if you add one.
• Crash detection (optional). If you turn it on, the moment of a detected impact. Nothing else in the background.
• Voice input (optional). Where you use voice hazard reporting, audio captured by the microphone is processed by the speech recognition service of your device or, where on-device recognition is unavailable, by the speech recognition service of the platform provider (Apple or Google). MotoRidez does not store the audio. The resulting hazard report is stored.
• Usage events. Records of actions taken in the app, with the date and time, app version, platform, the location associated with the action, and the country, region and city derived from it.
• Diagnostic data. Error reports and ride diagnostics, including app version, update identifier, platform, recent in-app actions at the time of an error, and measurements comparing a recorded ride with its planned route, and, for some rides, a record of the directions, reroutes and voice prompts the app gave. Used to find and fix faults in the app and its navigation.
• Network identifiers. IP address, user agent and request details, retained for security and abuse prevention.
• Live position during a ride. Friends riding the same trip can see where you are while your ride is recording. You can turn it off.
• Uploaded photos. Every photo is reviewed before it's public. We remove the location embedded in the file, with one exception: a photo you add to a public place — a fuel stop, a café, a lookout — keeps where it was taken, so the photo can show other users where the pull-in actually is. That location becomes visible only once a human has reviewed and approved the photo. Photos of anything else — your profile picture, your vehicles, your rides — have their location discarded as before.

What we don't do

• No ads in the app. No ad networks or ad SDKs in the app.
• No third-party analytics or tracking pixels in the app, and no fingerprinting. This website (motoridez.com) and the public trip and tour share pages use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. This website (not the share pages) also uses the Meta Pixel to measure our Facebook ads, build advertising audiences from website visitors and show our ads to people who visited. The Meta Pixel sends Meta the pages you view, the app-store buttons you tap, your browser and device details, your IP address and Meta cookie identifiers. Neither tool sees anything from inside the app. You can control how Meta uses this in your Facebook ad preferences. Independently of cookie choices, our network provider records aggregate traffic statistics for this website without the use of cookies. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics cookies are set only with consent. Cookie settings.
• We don't sell your data. We don't share it with data brokers, and nothing from inside the app is shared with advertisers.
• MotoRidez does not access your contacts, calendar or messages. Photos are accessed only where you select or capture a photo to upload. The microphone is accessed only while you use voice hazard reporting.
• We don't track your location when the app is closed and no ride is being recorded.

Where the data lives

Account data, trip data and uploaded content are stored with the hosting providers identified below. Backups are encrypted at rest.

Service providers and recipients

MotoRidez uses the following categories of service providers and third-party sources in operating the Service. Personal information is disclosed to them only to the extent necessary for the stated purpose.

• Hosting, storage and content delivery. Cloudflare and our application hosting provider. Account data, trip data, uploaded content and network identifiers (including IP address). Purpose: provision, security and delivery of the Service.
• Mapping, routing and elevation. Map tiles, routing and elevation data are supplied by services operated by or for MotoRidez and by third-party open-data providers. Requests carry the area viewed, the waypoints you select and, for tile and data requests, your IP address.
• Address and place search. Search text and an approximate bias location are transmitted to a geocoding service operated by or for MotoRidez, or to a third-party geocoding provider.
• Weather, road and imagery data. Coordinates of a route or location are transmitted to third-party providers, including MET Norway, Open-Meteo, the Overpass API, Transport for NSW and Mapillary, to retrieve forecasts, road information and street-level imagery.
• Authentication. Where you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the name and email address made available by that provider, subject to that provider's terms.
• Push notifications. Expo and the push notification services of Apple and Google. Device push token and notification content.
• Speech recognition. The speech recognition services of Apple and Google, where on-device recognition is unavailable. Audio captured while you use voice hazard reporting.
• Email. An email service provider. Recipient address and message content, for delivery.
• Bot protection. Cloudflare Turnstile on web forms. Browser and network signals.
• AI ride cards. Only if you request one. The photo you choose and details of the ride are processed by third-party AI providers, including Google, to create the card. Google may use the photo to improve its products. You're asked to agree before a request is sent.
• Website analytics and advertising. Google (Google Analytics) and Meta Platforms (Meta Pixel), on motoridez.com. Pages viewed, app-store buttons tapped, browser and device details, IP address and cookie identifiers. Purpose: measuring use of the website, measuring our ads and showing our ads to people who visited the website. Meta uses this data under its own terms and may combine it with other information it holds about you.

Personal information may be processed in Australia, the United States, the European Union and other countries in which these providers operate.

Reports + blocking

Wherever the app shows content from another user — reviews, photos (once they ship), profile bios — there's a Report action. We commit to reviewing reports within 24 hours and acting on credible ones (removing content, banning the user) without prior notice to the offender.

You can also block any other user. Blocked users can't see your content or live position; their content disappears for you.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account is open. Delete your account and we delete your rides, planned routes, visited-roads history and push token within 30 days. Backups roll off after 90 days. An AI ride card is deleted when you delete the photo it was made from, the ride, or your account.

Your controls

• Turn location off in your phone settings — the app will ask again the next time you plan or record.
• Delete a ride from the rides list and it (plus the road segments it contributed) is removed.
• Email privacy@motoridez.com to export your data, correct it, or close your account.

Children

Riders under 18 need a parent or guardian's permission to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 without that consent, and will delete such an account when we learn of it. A parent or guardian can ask us to see or delete their child's data at any time.

Changes

If we collect something new or use something differently, we'll update this page and bump the date at the top. Material changes are flagged in-app the next time you sign in.
