The one every Australian rider has on the list: the climb between Wauchope and Walcha, and the most consistently good motorcycle road in the country.
West-bound climbing is the classic run
The eastern climb is the reason to come — corner after corner with almost no straight between them, rising through forest onto the tablelands.
It is also a road with a long history of enforcement and of crashes, and the two are related. The corners tighten unpredictably and the camber is not always your friend.
Fuel at Wauchope or Walcha. There is nothing in between worth planning around.
