Grand Ridge Road
A ridge-top run through the Strzelecki Ranges with long views on both sides and long unsealed sections in the middle.
The sealed ends are open, rolling and quiet. The middle is gravel, and it is the reason most riders turn around rather than ride it end to end.
Check which surface you are committing to before you start: on a road bike the eastern and western thirds are the ride, and the centre section is an adventure-bike road.
It carries almost no traffic, which is most of its appeal.
